Residents weigh in on rural development (The Inyo Register)
On short notice, the U.S. Department of Agriculture has asked all counties in California for input on rural development. The local meeting was held Tuesday in Lone Pine, a midway point for Inyo and eastern Kern counties. A meeting was also held in Mammoth on Wednesday to hear Mono County concerns.

L.A. takes a shine to another Owens Valley product: sun (Los Angeles Times)
The Department of Water and Power wants to transform the area into one of the largest producers of solar energy in America. First it was silver ore that streamed to Los Angeles from the rim of the Owens Valley, then the water from the valley floor.
