About the author:
        Dave McNeill was born in San Francisco and spent childhood summers at Lake         Tahoe learning to appreciate nature. Graduated from SF State with a degree in         Broadcasting and Journalism. Spent thirty years building trails, working in wilderness         and recreation for the USFS. Now semi-retired and writing for magazines and         newspapers about the wonders and tales of the Eastern Sierra.
